About Us

NovaPet was born out of a very personal story - my love story with my now-husband, intertwined with my love story with his (now our) cats.

My husband has adopted his two cats for over ten years by the time we first met. By the time I met his cats, Walkie and Talkie, it was love at first sight. (People, take a page from his book. Having cats is such a dating flex. “Do you want to come play with the cats?” What an innocent notion, and how is a girl to say no to that?)

Fast forward a few years and we are a happy family. My life has changed in many ways and most of all I’m unashamedly growing into the typical cat lady: cancelling plans with friends because my cat was on my lap? Checked. Cutting short our holidays because we can’t bear to be away from the cats for so long? Checked. Finding no other activity as enticing as staying home with the cats on a weekend? Checked.

And yet, coming from a background with no pets and a spotless household, I struggled with certain aspects of co-habitating with cats. I came to learn the distinctive sound of a cat vomiting (from eating too fast, 99% of the time). There was the issue of fur and cat hair on every possible sitting surface. And lastly and the most devastating, was the fact that all our couches end up looking like this.

Then one day, something clicked - my journey can’t be unique. What if I could share what I’ve learnt, the tips and tricks that I’ve picked up, and help others keep a clean, low-maintenance household with cats? Thus began the creation of Nova Pet - featuring products that are tried and true, that are used in our own homes, and shared with you from our hearts. ❤️
